Practical Magic Dinner Party
Idea submitted by Nadean Helena of Root to Moon Alchemy

We’ll begin with an idea that came from my friend, Nadean, who conjured up a Practical Magic themed dinner for her dear friends.

Here’s how she did it:
– Created a cozy space, complete with hanging, flickering candlelight and bewitching decor
– Cooked a cozy meal, a feast fit for a coven, featuring cherry balsamic chicken paired with a decadent chocolate cake adorned with hibiscus cream cheese frosting
– Gifted her friends with a locket that included a homemade, solid perfume to ensure the magic lingered long after the dinner ended

Though currently on hiatus from her alchemical creations, you can still catch glimpses of her mystical world through her social handles. Follow Root to Moon Alchemy on Facebook or Instagram for updates and musings that are sure to ignite the witchy spark within you. After all, if you’re here with us at Noir Coven, you’ll want to be there too, experiencing the magic that Nadean so beautifully weaves. Nadean’s passion for all things witchy and macabre resonates deeply with the Noir Coven community and we wanted to share her coven gathering idea so witches, pagans, and friends everywhere can be inspired to enjoy moments like this with loved ones. Thank you Nadean!
Tarot & Tea Soiree

Gather your favorite tarot deck and brew a pot of your preferred herbal concoction for an evening of divination and delight. Encourage each guest to bring their own deck or provide a selection for communal readings for this coven gathering. As the cards are laid and mysteries unravel, let the soothing warmth of tea and the wisdom of the cards guide your conversations into the realms of the unknown.
Moonlit Meditation Circle
Embrace the ethereal glow of the moon with a meditation circle under the night sky. Settle into a tranquil outdoor space adorned with blankets, cushions, and twinkling lights. As the moonlight dances around you, invite your friends to join you in guided meditations, intention-setting rituals, or simply basking in the lunar energies that surround you.

Tips for this ritual:
Setting the Circle: Gather your friends in a circle facing the moon. Begin by taking a few moments to ground yourselves. Stand barefoot on the earth, close your eyes, and take deep breaths, feeling the connection between you and the Earth.
Opening Meditation: Lead a guided meditation to help everyone relax and center their minds. Encourage participants to focus on their breath, letting go of any tension or stress. Set the intention for the meditation to connect with the energy of the moon.
Silent Meditation: Encourage everyone to close their eyes and enter into a silent meditation. Encourage them to visualize the moon above, bathing them in its gentle light. Invite them to explore their inner landscape, letting go of thoughts and distractions, and simply being present in the moment.
Reflection and Sharing: After the meditation, invite participants to share their experiences or insights. You can pass around a talking stick, gemstones associated with the moon, or simply go around the circle, allowing each person to speak uninterrupted. Encourage honesty and vulnerability, creating a space of trust and support.
Integration: Encourage participants to carry the sense of peace and serenity they’ve cultivated during the ritual into their daily lives. Suggest journaling about their experiences or finding ways to connect with the energy of the moon in their own personal practices.
