As women, we have our “tribe” and we also have our “trio” or our “duo.” My trio and I have certain rituals that we’ve always done together: Wednesday Wine Nights, New Year’s Eve get togethers, summertime float trips, and we have a group chat that consists of planning all our escapades. This year, we added to our trio tradition list: An October “Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun” Halloween photoshoot.

Planning your Halloween Photoshoot

Our “planning” for this Halloween photo shoot really just consisted of “winging it.” We scoured our kitchens for cauldron like pots and old glass goblets, dug through fall decor totes for wicker baskets and candles, and dove into our kids’ dress up drawers for pointy hats and witchy capes. We filled glass bottles with colored water, shopped for our favorite wines and fall lagers, and threw everything into my jeep and drove all the way… to my backyard 😉 where we had set up an antique rug with a vintage, green, velvet couch and a wooden bench covered in all our spooky props. It was all nestled between two trees where a cove-shaped lot of branches hung down around us. It was the BEST “winging it” we’d ever done.

I called my sister-in-law (@rae.brumley) over to be our photographer for the day and she totally nailed all 300+ pictures we took during our Halloween photoshoot. Towards the end of the day, she drove us around to different cemetery’s where we walked around, wine-tipsy, and having conversations with the dead.

Long story short, it’s time to grab your besties, your camera, and spookiest (and silliest) Halloween props and create haunting memories with a Halloween photoshoot. Who doesn’t love getting spooky, kooky, and a little bit loony with best friends?!
