Enchanted Earth Clean-Up Event Recap 2025

In June, something magical happened—the grounded, earthy kind of magic that begins with people showing up for the planet. Together with Fox + Mama Crystals and Gentle Bear Creations, I hosted the Enchanted Earth Clean-Up—a month-long event rooted in care, community, and connection to the land. But it was more than just a clean-up. It became a gathering of hearts committed to healing the Earth, one trail, creek, and roadside at a time.

Whether you joined our Enchanted Earth Event with gloves and a trash bag or quietly picked up litter on your morning walk, your presence made a difference. You turned intention into action. And you reminded us that even small efforts can create powerful ripples.

What We Accomplished

Across the month of June, dozens of you shared your efforts from all over either in our group, on your own pages, or in a simple message during the Enchanted Earth Event. Some gathered in small circles. Others took a solo walk or went with their kids or some friends. Together, we:

  • Collected bags of trash from parks, waterways, sidewalks, and forests.
  • Recycled plastic, glass, and aluminum that otherwise would’ve ended up in rivers or oceans.
  • Cleansed sacred spaces in your own communities—bringing intention and gratitude to each act.
  • Shared before-and-after photos that reminded us how much a little effort can transform a space.

Enchanted Earth wasn’t about perfection—it was about presence. Every action, big or small, made ripples.

What We Learned

This Enchanted Earth Clean Up Event reminded us of a few important truths:

  • The Earth is still listening. When we care for her—physically and energetically—she responds.
  • Magic lives in stewardship. There’s spiritual power in picking up trash, clearing a trail, or tending a neglected place. These acts are spells in their own right. Some of you even shared how this experience helped you reconnect with your personal practice, inspiring rituals of gratitude or simple river offerings after your clean-up walk.
  • Community matters. Seeing your posts, photos, and reflections created a current of shared purpose that stretched far beyond our local regions.

A Note from Witchy River Mom

Let’s talk about something real for a moment—The emotional conflict between our values and our lived realities is something that deserves grace, not guilt.

Many of us were drawn to Earth-based spirituality because we believe in protecting the planet… honoring the land… living in tune with nature. But we’re also living in a world of plastic packaging, digital noise, and endless convenience.

We’re parenting in a time when screens are everywhere. Food is wrapped in single-use plastic. Schools send home flyers for fundraisers filled with plastic trinkets. And when we go camping or hiking with kids in tow, sometimes the “eco-perfect” choice just isn’t the most practical—or the safest.

We’re navigating new waters with no roadmap. We didn’t get to see how our parents would’ve handled these things when we were children. We’re winging it. We’re trying our best. And given the temptations and contradictions of today’s reality? I think we’re doing a pretty damn good job. We—and our children—deserve far more credit than the tired “kids these days…” insult.

I hate using plastic water bottles… But when I’m out in the woods with tired, hungry, wild little ones? Hydration wins.

I hate using chemical fire starters… But if it’s survival vs. eco-friendliness in the moment, I choose my family first.

I hate how much screen time creeps into our days… But sometimes, putting on a movie or a game is the best way I can relax and connect with my family.

I compost most of our food scraps with care… But there are rushed mornings and freezing nights when I just toss it in the trash because walking to the compost pile isn’t realistic—and that’s okay too.

And you know what? That doesn’t make me less of a pagan, a witch, or an Earth protector. It makes me human. A mother. A realist. A bridge between two worlds.

Living with intention isn’t about never making a less-than-ideal choice. It’s about holding the Earth in your heart—even when your hands are full. It’s about teaching our kids that progress isn’t perfection. You can still show up to clean a trail, plant a tree, recycle what you can, share a tip, say a blessing over the land— And then stop at the store for a convenience item because you’re exhausted.

The Earth doesn’t need our guilt. She needs our love. Our effort. Our awareness. And our willingness to try. Please know: You belong here. The little things do matter. You’re doing enough. You are enough.

Let’s walk this new path of imperfect Earth magic—together.

What’s Next?

The Enchanted Earth Clean-Up may have wrapped for June, but this kind of magic doesn’t end with a calendar. The Earth needs ongoing love, and the good news is—there are so many ways to keep the spirit alive.

  • Create a “trash witch kit” for your car, backpack, or stroller—include gloves, biodegradable bags, sanitizer, and a small token or charm to bless your efforts.
  • Craft a nature altar using found objects like river stones, leaves, or feathers (always ethically collected) to honor the land you’re helping care for.
  • Organize a micro clean-up with your kids, family or friends—even 15 minutes of focused effort makes a difference.
  • Leave enchanted offerings—wildflower seeds, herbal sachets, or eco-safe sigils drawn in dirt or a simple prayer—as a way of giving back.
  • Make cleanup part of your ritual practice—combine it with a full moon walk, sabbat celebration, or grounding meditation.
  • Share your stories and photos in our or your community space—each post inspires someone else to take action and reminds us we’re not doing this alone.

We’re also dreaming into what comes next—seasonal clean-ups, guided rituals, maybe even local gatherings. If you feel called to help organize or co-host future events, I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s keep tending, protecting, and celebrating this enchanted earth—together.
